Whut? I mean, are we meant to use our imaginations, and picture some poor 8-y.o. with an eeeevil piano teacher, sitting under the threat of that falling on his head if he doesn’t practice?
Man, don’t get the thought process on this one–assuming that one existed. You gotta ask yourself–what the holy hell was the author and/or cover “designer” thinking here?
I mean, if you kinda squint, you could maybe stretch your imagination far enough to think that that rock formation looks a little bit like an upright piano. Maybe that’s what he was going for?
LOL, well, that’s a creative interpretation. I’m going with that one, then, unless/until we get a better explanation. Who knows? We’ve seen authors here recently, defending their wares, so…perhaps the author will explain his thinking to us.
I recently saw an author…not bragging, really, but asserting how he’d spent 2020 working with a designer on his covers and how great they are now, and then–I went a looked at them.
I had to ask myself, why? He’d covered up all the designs, with huge translucent banners for the title and byline. The designs might as well not exist. Moreover, the designs weren’t that great in the first place. You just…it’s nearly impossible to get inside the heads of people who do stuff like that.
The SMH acronym (shake my head) is inadequate to the task, truly.
