As previously observed, public domain can be a fate worse than death, and no one exemplifies that more than H.P. Lovecraft. This and the next several covers are just some of the indignities to which one of his longer works, the short-novel length The Shadow Out of Time, has been submitted.
The shadow out of time (Special Edition)
Hey, is that Cthulhu spooge?
This one just might have worked since the artwork is very reminiscent of that of Clark Ashton Smith, a poet, Weird Tales contributor and close friend of Lovecraft. If only it had been better photographed/corrected and the type wasn’t so ham-handed.
Haven’t these graverobbers heard of The Curse of HPL Rip-offs? They should read HPL’s THE HOUND.
