Okay, I have to break from the pack here and just say that I freaking love this cover. That the banality of paperwork is what comes across, but the somewhat quirky title alludes to a lighter, more comedic tone inside. Reading the books’ description on Amazon, it’s about a department created in a small town police department with the sole aim of making one of the hanger-on old detectives retire out of sheer boredom. All in all, I’d say this succeeds wonderfully.

Thoughts, gang?

I like the idea of the cover and I like the idea of the book…but, Myk, I’m having a hard time embracing the cover. Not sure it’s awful…just that I don’t think in a million years that I’d click on it. So..is it doing its job, then?

Ha, I guess. Never thought of it that way. I suppose its succeeding as a piece of art, it not marketing.

Myk, I respect the heck outta you, but I’m not sure I can see it as a piece of art, either. I get the idea–this blizzard of paperwork, right? But…it’s just missing the mark for me. It’s gotta lotta MEH to it.

Happily for the author, though, I’m intrigued enough by the story idea to take a look at a possible purchase–but that’s only because you, Myk, made me look at the description by posting it here. The cover never would have. Hmmmmmm….

Just to allay any brewing suspicion, I am NOT the author, using the pen name K.P. Lawrence.
