I know it’s not that good, but I actually like it.

Y’know…mostly, me too. To me, this is pretty close to what a comic-book cover should look like. I’m underwhelmed by the title font (oish), but other than that, sorry, Nathan old boy, I can’t really go with you on this one.

Oooohkay…and Hitch steps back slowly, keeping the crazy man in sight… 🙂

While I find the artist quite capable, what makes this bad for me is that for something said to be a “Spectscular 1st Issue!”, there is absolutely no dynamism, no conflict, no tension, no drama, no hint of what we might find inside. There’s just two figures on opposite rooftops. One simply standing there looking as if he’s contemplating a grocery list, the other as if he’s just out for a run.

Superman’s debut had him lifting a car. Spiderman’s had him web-slinging. This simply doesn’t cut it for a debut superhero comic.

That is a good point. He does sort of look like he’s oblivious to the other guy on the other roof, which probably isn’t a bad-ass superhero look to have on a cover.

Okay, I give in. BAD comic cover! 😉
