Right. ‘Cuz, the worst damn possible thing for an aircraft (other than being targeted and shot down, of course) is…a bird strike. Wanna have your plane fall out of the sky? Try a bird strike. So, sure, let’s slap those damn geese up here, for no bloody reason.

The geese are metaphors for the usually graceful, but sometimes clumsy landings made by naval aircraft on the decks of carriers. They also represent the basic combat unit of a pilot and his wingman. Most importantly they are physical representations of the human spirit forever striving to set itself free from the chains of cover design conformity.
