It’s weird. The word “frightened” looks like something else–but I can’t quite make out WHAT. That all my interest was consumed by that, not the cover, not the artwork, is No Bueno for this cover.
I thinks it’s that the letters in “FRIGH” are one height and then the letters in “TENED” are slightly shorter. It makes it look almost like two different words that weren’t given enough space between them.
Yeah–that could definitely be it. Whatever it is, it’s a disconnect in my brain when I look at it. Weird. Not that that’s the ONLY problem in this cover, of course.
