I hate when covers show a character in an action pose that would be physically impossible to complete; the above image is a good example. So, the ram-horn, fire-hair, snake-man presumably wants to kill lizard man, but he’s far too close to use his sword. He couldn’t possibly complete any action with his sword that’d be a killing move. At best, he could execute a pommel strike.
If this was an RPG book from the early 80s I wouldn’t be a bit surprised.
