Frightful cover.

It really bothers me that the guard on that sword appears to be crooked because of that H. It also looks like a very dull blade.

Is that a squished photo of a forest at the bottom? If it is, it’s worth an aspect ratio tag.

The 3D sword and the 3D letters could go together, but a photo doesn’t go with neither of them. I just can’t think of the reasoning behind this one. “The cover with just the sword and the text looks bare, what else could I add? I know, I have this photo of a burning forest, I’m just gonna squish it down here because.” Why not put it across the entire background? Why squish it down there?

I first read that as “Is that a squished potato of a forest” and it didn’t even seem unusual until I couldn’t find the potato.

I must be spending too much time reading comments on this site because I thought exactly the same thing.

Why thank you. The cover looks much more interesting now, if I do say so myself.

Lol. Just needs a fancy carved inscription:
“Whoso pulleth out this Sword of this Tater, is Wrightful Heir born of Squished Forest”

Bwahaha. The Sword of Truth, according to the book description. Apparently the Wright Prince couldn’t even pull a sword out of a Tater. Perhaps he’s not the Wrightful Heir after all.

Also, Sword of Truth? Hasn’t that already been written? In, like, 14 installments?

Wrightful Heir. ? A cover blurb “Wright Series Book I” might have prevented my ? On the other hand, Prince Wright the “Wrightful” heir is a questionable pun.
