Why is she so small? Or is he a giant?

Historically, Western women were always smaller and came with the super power of creating their own light-source. Unfortunately, even when closing her eyes and squatting in a power-repose, Mabel was unable to overcome the animal magnetism of Trigger.

Thanks but I’m not into horse/cowboy romance, no matter how eternal. No wonder the woman looks disappointed.

I don’t think the guy is doing anything sneaky. Rather, I think the lady is deliberately rubbing her boob on his hand. “Quit pawing that horse, you big galoot, and give these babies a feel!”

Actually, my favorite part is the 21st-century “cowboy” shirt with the snap closures, the machine-stitched saddle cantle, and her 18th-early 19th century “Sunday-go-to-Church” dress. Perhaps he’s really the latest Dr. Who, and he’s time-travelling, eh? (Or, she is…take your pick.)

By Herbert George Wells, I think you’ve got it. The time machine was invented in 1895. That explains the anachronisms in wholesome wild west romance/mail order bride/Regency Romance genre covers. Their universes are populated by time travellers in search of true love.
