Seriously. If a child drew this we’d all praise it, but how can you browse book listings even one time and think this is acceptable for a book cover? Also, I can decide of I’m more concerned for the guy about to be eaten by the line, or for him, the bike, the car, or the tent being hit by a train.

Since this practice is no longer acceptable, I submit this:

I think, BL, that as good as your quickie is, the author was going for the would-be Kerouac vibe. 😉 Missed it by a country mile, of course, but …

Ooookay. There is one element that barely suggests that, but even they style is wrong.

My extraordinary detective skills were clued in by the “beat-lite” descriptor. 😉

I actually thought mine was less literal. Sigh.

And there’s a ton of it by the circus tent entrance – perfect place for some fake awards!

“Random Imagery” is close, but “Kitchen Sink” does seem fitting.

This cover reminds me of “Jailhouse Stew” (not a LBC tag). It’s kinda potluck where everyone brings a can of something for the pot.

Well, we talk about the “Kitchen Sink” school of design, over at CoverCritics.com; thus, it seems like it would be an appropriate tag to add here. 😉
