No “Actual Title Please” for this one?

And while there’s much for a connoisseur of lousy book covers to admire on this cover, I think my favorite bit has to be the “Author of Bass Reeves Trilog” at the bottom. It just says, “I couldn’t even be bothered to look at my own cover, and you think I proofread this thing? Ha, ha, ha, ha.”

Blurb:
“… Wildnerness …”
Look Inside!:
The cover slices “Trilogy” off as “Trilog”.
I ask Y?
The title page slices “WILDERNESS” off as “WILDERNE”.
Why? Why is it so hard to do proofreading and correction before hitting publish?

What’s going on with her leg? And the dainty way in which she’s holding that gun? And the colour disparity between her face and hands? And what has he got a cartoon-style black outline? Is the image REALLY depicting the bullet from that gun halfway along the two-foot distance between the end of the gun barrel and him? That certainly is against all odds.

Why are that woman’s feet bigger than her face?

You mean a wildnerness survival trait?

It seems the odds are in her favor. The dress parting for skin is a Poser artifact (I never could get the hang of that program – it was easier to make twisted people who bulged out of their plastic-looking clothes!). She looks very dispassionate about shooting that Native American.

I don’t think she knows how to hold the gun properly.

I think you are right. The proper stance holding a gun with any recoil is cheek weld to stock comb, shoulder weld to buttstock, lean forward, relaxed at waist, so your upper body weight becomes part of the recoiling mass — less felt “kick” that way.
If the lady fired the gun in that position with that hold, I believe she would end up landing on her bustle.

Anyone else feeling the urge to sing “Take a look at me now!” from seeing the title?
