I was truly terrified….until I saw the awards. Then it gave me a happy, warm feeling that totally ruined the foreboding atmosphere.

Don’t you love it when the tagline has to tell you it’s “a novel of terror and suspense” because the cover doesn’t?

There’s no terror or suspense in those trees. In fact, they’re pretty boring trees.

At first I was meh about this title, then I researched. In Abenaki myth Mateguas is a trickster rabbit. Oh, that wascally wabbit, as Elmer Fudd would say.
