So, now we’ve graduated to the baby black market? How romantic.

Was the baby ordered by mail order as well? Do all they come deformed and missing appendages, or just this one? And are they all as big as a woman?

Why does the baby’s tummy look like he swallowed a chihuahua’s head?

Mail Order Bride: A Baby for the Hesitant Bride

What the world needs is clean wholesome Mail Order Bride Romance novels.

Without the creepy emanations and penumbras.

Yes, because buying women through Sears’ Catalog is just good old wholesomeness.

Surely there’s a mail-order groom genre about crusty old ranch hands who move back east to be pampered by rich socialites.

I checked the index of my repro 1897 Sears Roebuck Catalogue but found no brides or women listed. I think connections were made through the 19th century equivalents of Craiglist.

The mail order brides genre is as wholesome as the passive objects of contention between clans of vampires and werewolves genre. Creepy emanations and penumbras define them.
