The Mailbox: Priority: Murder

The Mailbox: Priority: Murder

If it weren’t for that word “murder,” we’d have absolutely no idea.

Did the vines murder the mailbox? Is the mailbox hiding in the vines, planning murder?

Will I lose my LBC Gold Star Member status if I admit that I kinda love the mailbox, even if it is a crappy cover?

The box makes a striking and strong statement, I just can’t figure out what.

I trust that there’s another similar eye on the other side, and a nose & mouth on the door. If there are fangs painted on the inside edge of the door, so much the better.

Well, the waste products from its victims (once they’ve been digested) have to emerge from it somewhere.

Judging from the luxuriant growth of the vines, they ought to bag that output and sell it at Farmers’ Supply as fertilizer.

Nah, you just have to admit that sometimes you love a little tacky in your life.

Happens to me more often than I’m comfortable with, honestly, though I’ll say I am not a fan of coquettish mailboxes.

The hilarious part is, with the door open, it looks like she’s smoking a ciggie in one of those 1930’s cigarette holders, ya know? I really do like it.

Not at all – the mailbox is the best part!

The staff on that mail pickup flag is too short for the flag to readily call attention of a mailman.*

Come to think about it, this particular mailbox more likely would attract attention of a mailman by dropping a hankie, less likely by raising a flag.

* USPS has its standards! The flag must be visible above the top of the mailbox from both sides. And some gated community homeowner associations have additional standards for mailboxes beyond USPS requirements.

I think if it dropped a hankie by me, that would raise a fair few flags.

Apparently it was a priority to murder the cover.
