My first thought was that it was an attempt to cover up some sort of stock image watermark, but it’s similar enough to the name that I’m wondering if it is an attempt at some sort of shadow effect that really didn’t work.
That’s my take–its a sh*tty echo/shadow effect, somehow meant to be a play on the two hands on the crown.

That title font does not convey late 14th Century England to me.
It’s on my (late wife’s) laptop and searching it’s Harrington, an art nouveau face introduced 1988, 1991. Apparently part of the Microsoft font package.
