I’m gonna be honest. This looks suspiciously like the exact same house, birds, person walking, and layout of a cover I did a few years back. But. With better kerning, a different readable title, and not suffering from having just been spit out by a black hole. I must not be as original as I hoped. :-p
The aspect ratio doesn’t bother me too much here.
It’s the kerning.
ST ORIES
Ories, patron saint of crows.
My fingers are just itchin’ to fix the aspect ratio – it really didn’t need to be stretched like that.
And a little attention to the kerning in the text would have been nice.
Could have really been a dramatic cover.
Reminds me of the cover for Pandemonium by Darryl Gregory. Except that one is good.

Anything to cover the origin of the stock photo? Pity if they actually paid for it… https://www.shutterstock.com/image-photo/man-walking-field-towards-haunted-house-161794937?src=-2y-7LD0ZAa19vIFyenEZA-1-0 (that is some squashing)
Two simple and obvious errors in the Amazon blurb. [sigh]
