1) The image. You can tell it’s something someone snapped with a digital camera. You can see the shadow of the flash behind the object. If it had at least been run through a Photoshop filter, or shot better, it might have come out a little bit cooler.
2) The font at the bottom. Oh man. Light blue on silver? Bad, bad color choice. Makes it hard to read.
Also, not very important but an aside: why the author’s name put off to the corner? Doesn’t seem right, for some reason.

You can’t see the image from the letters and you can’t see the letters from the image. It’s like two birds with one stone. A double win.
What’s with the random italics in the hard-to-read title? Even selected letters in the last word…
I think the title is a typo. Based on the cover, I think the author meant “A Prison of Words.”
Hah. I see what you did there!
Two problems that immediately stand out to me:
1) The image. You can tell it’s something someone snapped with a digital camera. You can see the shadow of the flash behind the object. If it had at least been run through a Photoshop filter, or shot better, it might have come out a little bit cooler.
2) The font at the bottom. Oh man. Light blue on silver? Bad, bad color choice. Makes it hard to read.

The cover “artist” discovered the presets in MS Office for doing artistic violence to the fonts.
