“Chocolate balls recipe inside”? Wasn’t there a dirty innuendo song in the 90s about chocolate balls?
Looking at this, I think I would honestly be more forgiving of the bad illustrations compared to the other skin-crawling problem that this book seems to be about human children learning that their fear is unjustified and it’s perfectly fine to go to a stranger for sweets. And the poetry is horrible.
Bad font choice as well.
I can see why the cloud video scary at that low altitude, as well as the little man on top with sweets. Or is the girl actually a giant?

“They’re packed full of vitamins, and good for you!“
Bad font choice as well.

autocorrect on my phone changed a word to video.
It should be “I can see why the cloud would be scary at that low altitude”
This cover awakens my childhood memories of menacing low lying clouds in “I Married a Monster from Outer Space” and “The Crawling Eye”.
The really scary thing is that someone actually thought this was a good cover for their book.
The girl looks like her parent’s bedtime story readings were “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “It”.
