My “willing suspension of disbelief for the moment which constitutes poetic faith” is damaged from the get-go by this lousy book cover.
I think the cover is a warning not to take anything inside the book seriously. As such, it works perfectly.

I like a challenge. If i were to parody such a book, I think I would replace the dinosaur with either a single-cell organism or an early multi-cell organism.
Sex up that primordial soup with a bikini shot.
