Unh? A “compelling and heartfelt” thriller? What the hell? This must be the “Future Lifetime Movie of the Week” publisher’s award. A heartfelt thriller. Now I’ve read everything. UNfreakingbelievable.
Publisher’s Weekly, you’ve sold your credibility and your name. {sigh}
Kirkus Reviews (not Kirkus Indies) reviewed Joel Canfield Blue Fire (with this cover, too) so maybe we should not judge a PW review by the cover. (Yeah I thought PW? on LBC? too! But judging the cover by the cover, it did not sell the book to me.) Other reviews say the plot involves a missing comic book genius and a hallucinogenic designer drug. Which can explain – but not pardon – the cover.

On second look “… semi-finalist in the Publisher’s Weekly Book Life Prize in Fiction …”
Is this a superhero book?
And is it manga?
Wow, you score a review from PW and then screw it up with clip art on an underwhelming cover? Ouch.
