Yes. Oh, and yes would count too. And yeah, yay, ay, aye, I…if it’s offset by spaces, it’s a word. Even if it’s numbers, it’s a word … and so I give you: 583, a word.
Ah, you’re thinking of compound adjectives. Well, in word processors they count that differently–some might say one, some might say three. Within the story, for “rule” purposes (like if you were entering a contest), it should be counted as one word.
Well, I’m all rev’d—to exactly 100 RPM
Sorry, Nathan, but a Drabble is totally a thing. And it’s precisely 100 words. Make it 99 or 101 words and it’s not a Drabble anymore. 😉
That sure doesn’t make it a good book cover and using both Drabble and 100 words is quite redundant.
And here I thought “Drabble” was just a comic strip from the ’80s.
Sorry, dear. 😉
So basically saying it is a Drabble of 100 words, is the equivalent of saying it is a Haiku with three lines.
Anyone interested in Drabble would know that already! As demonstrated already.
That’s exactly the same! You nailed it. 😉
I like the idea of a story getting up to 100 words and just
BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! That’s hil
Must remember “drabble” next time I play Scrabble.
Does “A” count as a word? How about “AN”? Just askin’…

What about thrown-together-quickly sorts of usage? One or three?

Man . . . I have to tell you, coming to this page and seeing this old “related” cover gives me the creeps. Maybe it is the way it is framed.
But. I am. Freaked. OUT.
I now get horribly frightening emails from Amazon just like these.
I blame Nathan for the ugly turn my life has taken.
