The House is in Charge

The House is in Charge

The artwork could probably hold its own if the type didn’t let it down completely.

Floating blood? With the straight vertical placement, the point of view is not immediately clear.

Awww this is so sad. I kinda like the art, too.

I like the art too. But why are the doll’s (?) arms so long and legs so short? Looks weird.

I like the art quite a bit, actually. It’s creepy – in a good way- and I reckon it would stick out quite a bit when viewed in an ebook store. The only thing I’d change is those bloodstains, really.

…but yeah, I agree that the type treatment is awful.

All things considered, though, I actually think this is quite a good cover…by the standards of Lousy Book Covers.

I like the creepy drawing. What a shame about the text.

I’m actually intrigued by the image – particularly the layout of it. How was that done – is it a photograph looking down onto a left-hand page on a white table, or looking down into a box with its left side cut away? Or is just really optical-illusion-stylee shading making it look like one of those two?
