You know, even though it’s not a mandolin, the instrument art could’ve been kind of cool and artsy-stylish, even the background has possibilities. But the red border and those awful fonts. Uck. Just…uck. I mean, nothing about the fonts or the title treatments or that yucky red suggests anything to do with sorcery.
This cover is quite remarkable in that there’s not the slightest suggestion of what genre it is. There’s the standard-fit ‘scary’ font for ‘Episode 1’, but that’s cancelled out by, well, everything else.
Um, that’s not a mandolin. It appears to be a harp or lyre of some kind, but definitely not a mandolin.
How do the strings connect to the top?
Magic I suppose.

Grade: FAIL
Yes, it could have been, if it had not been made with fingerpaints.
I didn’t think this really conveyed the meaning of the story.
So, as a FREE SERVICE, I fixed it for you.
Sir, I applaud you.
Well played! (get? like in music?) 😉
Nice.
A magic touch.
