I just noticed the author’s name. I wonder if she pronounces it Can. And just what language exactly does it come from spelled that way. I’m curious because I’m unfamiliar with the convention.

It looks like the Pale Person version of “Ja” or “La.” As in “JaQuan,” or “LaShawn,” etc. K’Anne, to me, looks like someone’s real name is Kathy Anne, or Kelly Anne, etc., bastardized into this pseudo-celtic/Elf thing. Whatever.
