In Too Deep

I think the Amazon algorithm has become self-aware, and it’s generating these covers to piss me off.

So, the new AIs aren’t trying to take over the world, they just have a really obnoxious sense of humor?

Wolfe is in on the joke – look at that sly grin.

No, Nathan, it’s not about you. The Amazon Algorithm just wants more Wolfie covers. It thinks wolves on covers sell more. (OK, the Algorithm needs some tweaking…)

There’s a wolf on the cover? Oh, yeah, in the background. Sorry, I was distracted.

I think we should start a new game. Some like the game people play with fortune cookies. You read the fortune out loud and then add, “between the sheets” to the end of the fortune. Results in unending hilarity.

For example, the fortune, “In youth and beauty, wisdom is rare” becomes “In youth and beauty, wisdom is rare between the sheets.”

HAHA! Snort!

So, my game is this – Let’s add, “That’s what she said” to the end of every bad title.

Admittedly, this doesn’t always work – for instance, “The Hobbit, that’s what she said.” Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

But occasionally it works great, as it does here.

I think you have forgotten this simple fact.

If it was a Hobbit, he wouldn’t be ‘in too deep’ now would he?
Therefore, That’s what she said is entirely appropriate.

Side Note: The sequel to this book is called ‘Start with the Tip’.
