I could see one of those lame, minimalist 60’s sci-fi covers. But this is the 21st century, so there’s no excuse.
The cover quote could add, “I’ve never seen anything like it, either.”
But any teens browsing YA who see a gender-mingling cover, unconventional or not… well, they might just have an interest in peeking inside…
Only if they know what those symbols stand for. I’m betting they don’t.

Where’s the XX? The symbols are both there, why not the chromosomal indicators, or whatever they’re called.
