Would you believe that behind this cover lurks “a fast-paced military technothriller of intrigue, love, battle and survival in a near-future world of titanic East-West conflict”?

The “Related” section shows that this is (at least) the second attempt at a cover for this book. And in both attempts the cover designer uses images that convey the exact polar opposite of “fast-paced,” “military technothriller,” “intrigue,” “battle,” “survival,” and “titanic conflict.”
The.
Exact.
Polar.
Opposite.
This would be an ok cover for some other genre. I assumed at first glance that it was a spiritual subject and not fiction at all.
Plus what are those two black dots underneath the bird?
At larger size it appears the bottom portion of the pic is a rocky shoreline, so they appear to be rocks with shadows below them. That or it’s guano. Your choice!
Even weirder is the top beach/sea/sunset and another pic of same on the bottom half. I mean WTF?
Birdie has a poopie problem.
Well, actually not. Like all birds, what’s underneath during a BM isn’t a consideration. Bombs Away!
See the book cover at wwww.amazon.com/dp/B00HNXELWA. And it didn’t come from a site called Lousy Book Covers.
Glen E. Books (om-nom-nom-de-plume tag missing?)
The new cover is an improvement. Although the flag (if that is what it is?) in the top background is overkill/distracting.
And, as this the second in a series you may want to mention that fact. A simple “Part II” should do the trick.
Finally – correct me if I’m wrong here Nathan – this site, Lousy Book Covers is not normally a provider of lousy book covers. I can see where the name might be a little confusing.
No, this site is for mean bullies like me . . .
Actually, I’ll let Nathan take over here. But before I do, note that the tagline for this site is, “Just because you CAN design your own book cover doesn’t mean you SHOULD.”
Yup. Only mean bitches complaining about design-blind authors, here. 😉
Someone set Glen up the bomb. Advice denied!
The tagline sounds like something from Zero Wing.
We are not lose yet. The threating to world been has avoid. Apocalypse Denied!
