I think this is the least-bad cover I’ve seen on here since I started watching this blog. I wouldn’t say it quite makes it as professional-looking work — it’s too busy with unnecessary details,Photoshop effects, etc. — but I’d call it not half bad. It conveys its genre and subject matter quite well, and it’s not ugly.
Has anyone been brave enough to look inside? Because the cover blurb actually kind of intrigues me as well. But yeah, the cover needs tweaked.

The slabs of ones and zeroes joined at right angles suggest that is Queen Borg instead of Queen Bess.
I agree with the above comments, turning down the transparent glow in the dark effects and finding a script font that complements the roman (or just replacing it with the roman) would go a long way.

The teensy writing across the top is useless in a thumbnail. Why don’t authors/cover “designers” understand that???
Queen E looks like a goonie from the “land of jeeps.”

I don’t think it’s too bad — the oozing blood effect and the Warwick coat of arms are a bit over the top and it would look better without them. The translucent white escutcheon thing and the font on it could be done better, and this would probably have been the more sensible place to put the coat of arms. The binary and portrait of the queen I think work well and it puts me in mind of something perhaps a bit like the Da Vinci Code but more technothriller. I’m in two minds about the silhouette. It clutters it up a bit, but it probably does help with genre identification.
I like the idea for the cover, the execution, not as much.
Agreed.

Yeah. It’s just a bit too much.
Agree.

In the designer’s defense, not EVERYTHING on a cover needs to be legible at thumbnail size.
