I’ve actually come to respect the more boring book covers because they don’t make me spew whatever I’m drinking out of my nose.

That being said, I wouldn’t give this cover a second look if it were on a shelf. It’s rather unremarkable.

You said it: not repulsive, but not attractive either.

And there’s absolutely nothing saying “futuristic geo-political thriller” here.

I’m all for minimalistic. The plain red cover and gold text of Catcher in the Rye is wonderful. But I’m not sure that would work on an unknown book.

And, really, this HOBO font does the opposite of shout politics or intrigue, or whatever the hell this book is about.

Everything made in hobo font looks like it was made in a home garage. I hate it so.

What’s black, white, and red all over? This cover. ::Yawn::

Well, Hobo is one of my fave fonts. But then, I’ve been told I have weird tastes in typography…
