Well, I imagine it gets difficult to acquire good cover designs when you’ve been dead for 15 years, as Marion Z.B. has…

Especially from hell, where MZB should be roasting right about now.

I’ve heard this last year from a former neighbor of theirs… I’ve been a fan since the age of 15 and I have almost all of her books in my bookshelves… Now I want to burn them all…

I’ve always thought she was overrated as an author. Tried to read Mists of Avalon about four times. Never could get through it.

Looks like a high school kid with developing art skills did this cover.

It is very easy to accuse someone of atrocities that can’t defend herself anymore. Just remember, just because it is published on the Internet it isn’t necessarily the truth …

I know it’s Wikipedia but on controversial subjects BS usually does not survive an edit war between advocates and skeptics. I advise chase down the sources. The cited sources appear to be notable, reliable sources.

I was on a panel about book covers with Nathan at Westercon.

Wow, wish I’d known about this one then.

Here’s why I think Moira’s claims about MZB are particularly credible. (Granted, I did break the story on my own blog, so I’m not unbiased.)

1) The Breendoggle occurred before they were married (where Breen was accused of being previously convicted of pedophilia and still an active pedophile). (Source: timeline and Breendoggle wiki)

2) Shortly after MZB married Breen in 1964, she copyedited his pederasty book. (source: her own testimony in Ken Smith case)

3) She moved Breen out of the house in 1979 when he was accused of taking up with another minor. (Source: her own testimony.) She didn’t divorce him until his arrest on a subsequent event about ten years later. (Source: her own testimony.)

4) When asked if a photo of an underage boy she initially mistook for her own son was old enough to consent to sex with an adult, she refused to answer. (Source: her own testimony.)

She’s documented as being far more complicit than any other case I’ve heard of (or my mother’s heard of, and mom was a social worker).

Also, The Guardian did talk to me, Moira, and several others.

It’s the identical cover to Free Amazons Of Darkover (Darkover Anthology Book 3) except that the picture is reversed. Must have been a real tight budget.

What gobsmacks me about this is that these are the covers posted to Amazon in *2014*.

The same year that Darkover covers like this are produced:

(That one’s lovely.)

I don’t even.

I know this is very late to the conversation, and not at all molesty, but…

I have seen this picture somewhere before, but a professional finished version with better perspective. I am sure that this ‘artist’ used it as a reference, as it is in my mind near identical…

It is in an RPG, I think a JRPG. Something like Suikoden… Almost positive…
It is driving me crazy!
