The Brain Master

Doesn’t this just make you want to slap someone?

So, that’s one slap for the cover…and another three for the blurb. Not bad!

I scrolled down expecting to see a brain. I didn’t see a brain. Also, I didn’t think the people who controlled marionettes tied the strings to their fingers…

No – but they DO tie them to the thing they are manipulating! Unlike this debacle…

What purpose does that wave in the font serve? Is it supposed to be seen as a brain wave pattern? It’s not working if so.

I think the idea was that the individual letters are being controlled by the marionette/puppet/whatever strings above.

That’s the only thing I can come up with, anyway.

I had the same thought. Then I realized that is exactly what the brain master wants us to think.

Reminds me of a scene from a B movie that was filmed on a $20 budget. That sort of thing worked when Vincent Price led the cast and the story was da bomb (even if production was cheesy) but it’s not the thing for a book cover. Gag.

Those strings are far too few for all the letters in the title.

The top half of this has so much lurid promise! But scrolling down was sadly disappointing.

I didn’t know marionettes had brains. And here I thought they were just a type of dummy…
