Readability. White letters with white background? At certain sizes on certain monitors/devices author Starks appears as Stark. Not an auspicious debut.

Layering transparent images is easy in graphic software. Getting them to seperate into Cyan-Magenta-Yellow-Black printing plates that do not end up muddy on paper drives some printers crazy. Actually, looking at this on different devices at different sizes, the face and butterfly can be hard to see. Too subtle for internet sales.

(Maybe just me. I would never dare to use the image of a girl’s face covered with a butterfly for a murder mystery because it would immediately provoke comparison to a certain iconic book/movie, yeah it was a moth but still).
