The cover is not bad at all, but the negative comment is uninteligable. What does: “What is this I don’t what?” translate to in clear English? If you are going to say something bad, don’t say it badly.
1) My comment was an expression of confusion — a longer, more agonized version of “Hunh?”
2) Actually, the cover is indeed bad. Random elements of mismatched resolution, arranged with very little thought of aesthetic layout. It is, simply, a lousy book cover.
This cover is horrendous. A giant army guy looming over the horizon, aiming at a tiny oil rig? The random, gratuitous bikini model melting into the sand? The umbrella, clearly meant to cover up the fact that the photo that she came from only went down to her knees? Eeech.

The wonder of photoshop.
In real life, how many times have I gone to the beach and seen a kaiju commando risng from the sea, or an oil rig so close to the shoreline, or an ocean going yacht in the surf, or a hot babe in a thong “facing” me on the beach?
Only by the miracle of photoshop.
LBCs with deep draft vessels in shallow surf always get to me.

‘As Millicent lazed on the sand waiting for her millionaire boyfriend to sail back to shore she couldn’t help wondering “Why does that 100-foot soldier on the horizon want to shoot that oil rig?’

Two things, Nicola:
1) My comment was an expression of confusion — a longer, more agonized version of “Hunh?”
2) Actually, the cover is indeed bad. Random elements of mismatched resolution, arranged with very little thought of aesthetic layout. It is, simply, a lousy book cover.
