Tail of the Devil

Why take an acceptable stock image and then place a boring font in all the wrong places? Why?

Why? Well, the devil’s in the details. 😉
Sorry.

Is that black batwing shape behind him supposed to be his tail? Or does he only have one wing?

So many problems with this cover, such as the fact that AFIT the those were lense flares, or water drops, causing the circles of rain. Then I realized that yes, that was a batwing, or a tail, or a cape.

And it is transparent. But you can’t see the rain through it. So, it isn’t transparent. But I can see the lights through it.

My brain really shouldn’t have to work so hard when looking at a book cover.

Red text again. Please do not do this.

I think the cover is showing how much power over reality the character possesses, he can cut out shapes in the rain with is mystical katana. It looks as he cut out the shape in front and behind himself.
