Actually, I don’t think it’s too bad. Mediocre, perhaps, but nothing eye-rolling, snickering horrible. The artwork is decent, and at least not done with crayon or colored pencil.

And the font is actually readable…

I think the font is killing this cover. I don’t mind the artwork, but the plain monochrome font makes me want to punch babies in the throat.

Sorry, guys–I gotta disagree. I think we’ve seen so many GODAWFUL covers there that you’re thinking that the artwork here is “good.” But, it’s not. It’s like the artwork that your somewhat talented 6th-grader does.

That being said–yeah, the font is definitely the killer. The stake in the heart. Not two ways about that.

We all need to go to a few book stores or libraries and remind ourselves what real dust jackets and book covers look like.

A steady diet of lousy book covers can dull the sense of taste.
