The Enemy Within

The Enemy Within

It’s 2017. How out of touch do you have to be to believe that Comic Sans is an appropriate title font?

The Enemy Within: sure, that bridge may look innocent enough, but it secretly hates all of you daily commuters for using it and is plotting to kill you!

Unless that bridge is really a Decepticon, I’m not seeing it.

Couldn’t they at least have used a shot where someone wasn’t jiggling the camera?

And GLOWY, EVIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLL Comic Sans, too. I mean, even if the comic sans love hadn’t died off years ago, doesn’t the evil glow sort of go against the comic idea?

I learn so much from this site.

I did not recognize that bridge, but from the strange design, Comic Sans and the “Evil” book title seemed to be a good match for it.

It appears to be the Quebec Bridge; there is a Wikipedia article about it, with subheadings like “First design and collapse of August 29, 1907,” “Second design and collapse of September 11, 1916,” and “Aftermath.” One result was that engineers would be required to “have applicable engineering experience.” It apparently will cost about $350 million to paint the bridge to keep it from rusting into oblivion.

The bridge in behind it is a no-nonsense suspension bridge that cost $55 million to build.

Followed Red’s hint. Quebec Bridge (cantilever design), Pierre Laport Bridge (suspension), power towers on the bank between the two. That’s it. Unrecognizable due to the aspect ratio.

Judging by how tiny the cars are along that coast road, those bridges must be taller than the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
