The mystery: why would anyone want to live in a place where all you can see through the (obviously heavily polluted) “pea soup fog” is the Eiffel Tower?

Does the mystery involve turning your head around on your shoulders like you are possessed?

Chattycat? Phllbbbffffffffffffffffffft. That’s ridiculous. Is this a child’s book?

Oh, make me Look Inside! According to Amazon, Roxie Lane is an eleven year old detective. Chattycat is a French/English label. So it’s deliberately childish or, charitably, primitive. I remember “Tim Tadpole and the Great Bullfrog”, Cooney’s “Chanticleer and the Fox”, “Frog and Toad Are Friends” as child’s books with great covers.
