Looking at a couple of the reviews, it does indeed appear that there are Gypsies in this book. I don’t know if they were actually a thing in Civil War era America or not.

I am aware there were gypsy immigrants in Mexico around a hundred years ago. Possible they were in the South 150 years ago.

That’s absolutely, definitely, a Traveller (Irish Gypsy) caravan. Aside from the practical question of “is she pulling it herself?” I have to wonder how on EARTH that would figure into a civil war story. For that matter, how the hell would an Irish Traveller GET that damn thing to the US in the first place, in the middle of the 19th century?

It’s simply discordant.

Sweet, this book ONE! I love it when you find a book you love and then you find out that there’s more coming. Oh, and then there are books like this.
