Half a Dozen (Sunset Investigations Book 3)

It’s for covers like this that the “WTF?” tag was created.

The skull looks like it has a jolly little KKK hat.

Nope – It’s Pagliacci waiting for his solo.

But would he have enough breath to be heard in the back rows of the opera house?

Half a Dozen: Sunset Investigations Volume 3
There’s the sunset.
There’s a half dozen dimple egg carton containing:
_quilt
_skull
_baby
_Mothraette
_The Shadow in a hat
_mystery silver thingumbob
Six, yep, half a dozen. No oval moon. No photobombing wolfie. No off camera bigfoot. No headless torso with 6 pack abs. It’s perfect-o. What’s the problem?

I’ll bet when the artist/writer first thought of this cover she was impressed with herself at how clever the concept was. Egg carton…half a dozen? It’s a natural. Unfortunately, she never pictured what the final result would look like. It’s one of the silliest covers I’ve ever seen. Please think before you hit the “publish” button.

If they thought before hitting “publish” (or ran it by at least one neutral honest critic), most would never be here.

They seem to be running short of ideas for superhero movies this year.

After I stopped laughing, I decided to figure out which butterfly that is. My guess is Cardinal or some other kind of fritillary.

Nathan,

I know you usually just give up after four or so tags – but I have to point out that freakin’ terrible om-nom-nom de plume.

Sharon Kull? Really. As in, S. Kull?

How amazingly stupid do you think I am?

Sunset Investigations
_ Cover “volume ” or “Volume ” arabic numeral (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
_ Title page “Volume ” arabic numeral (2, 3, 4, 5)
_ Title page “Volume ” roman numeral (I, VI)
_ Amazon book page “Book ” arabic numeral (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
I know, I know, “consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds”.
Consistency oughta be expected in promotion of a book, er, volume, series.
Inconsistency looks amateur and may thwart searches.
Back in the day we had Style Sheets and followed them (under nagging by the proofreaders but we had to or it would be bounced back til we complied).

Alright! I got an egg carton, some toys, and some other miscellaneous stuff to put in the egg carton.

Voila! Cover art created!

The way most of you are spouting off is pathetic. I Googled this author. Whether or not her covers run to your taste, she has a stack of published novels to her credit. How many of you could write even one novel? How many of you could make a book cover that would please everyone? So sit there in front of your monitor and continue playing the Complaint Game. That’s all the brain power you have anyway.
