No one on the cover looks particularly surprised and none of them seem to be actually “mating” either. Also “mating” is a somewhat strange term to use for either a romance or an erotic novel.
I’ve seen the term “mating” used on some erotic novels on Amazon, but I have no idea what it stands for. Maybe it’s an atempt to bypass the Amazon sex police by replacing the word sex with mating. I don’t know, if someone could shed some light on this, I’m quite interested to know what it means.

I think the word “mating” is supposed to make it sound more primal. At least, if that bloody raptor book is anything to go bay.

Ugh! Is ‘Surprise Mating’ a euphemism for rape? I just cannot think who would want to buy a book with this title or cover.
