I’ve come to the conclusion that there is an undiagnosed disability common in indie authors which causes them to asume everything on their computer screen is in the wide aspect ratio of an analog signal in a digital world. Therefore, in order to make it look “normal” they squish it.

This photo has been destroyed, but must look normal to Ms. Wilder, the poor dear.

I wish it was only the aspect ratio. There must be something terribly wrong with their screens that makes all the pixelated, badly cut out, layer upon layers covers looks awesome. I wish I had the same defect on my screen, it would make looking at this less painful.

Contents flattened in transit: The sender really should pay for costs and send a replacement. The packaging was not sturdy enough.

She is definitely a mail-order bride, she’s thin enough to fit through the letter slot.

What’s squished aspect doing on this cover? When I have told everyone: no … squished … aspect …. EVER!? I browse books on Amazon, on Smashwords, ’til my eyes blur and cross. They … just … don’t … care. Squished aspect, why, why, WHY? Oh, I give up. Go ahead, squish the cover art to one pixel wide. Just go all the way and paste cartoon and CGI people on photographed landscapes with headless torsos and extraneous wolfies and make the title page half Papyrus and half Comic Sans. I give up.

Til tomorrow.

What do you mean, ‘too skinny’?? She’s the perfect shape to live in that funny-looking building.
