Why is it so difficult to give fake people shadows?

It is not difficulty; it is just … laziness.

And if they don’t care as book promoters, I don’t care as a book browser/buyer.

Yep, books do get judged by their covers. Live with it. Learn from it. Do better next time.

As Naaman said, it is not difficult, but it does require a basic understanding of render settings and how lights work. Makes me cringe to think that the same effort put into rendering the image was put into writing the story.

Why is it so difficult to give fake women normal boobs?

My objection is that the girl (?) looks like Jan-Michael Vincent with fake girls. And nobody in their right mind would wear purple body-sprayed latex. Nasty when you’re sweating. (Yes, I know. Halloween balls, wearing latex cat suit.)

Maybe it’s not body-sprayed latex, but just one big tattoo.

Positive reinforcement: Kinda cool in its own strange, strange way.
