News flash: table of contents does not go on the cover.

Well, it’s not completely unknown in the pro-publishing world:

This cover could certainly be improved on, but I don’t think it’s the sort of epic fail we usually see on here.

That book was published in 1970 – 44 years ago. I wouldn’t call it a relevant example for today’s market.

You’d be surprised at how irrelevant I would be, measured by that scale.

At least that one is tasteful. This one might have been if it wasn’t for that drawing, even though the text is all over the place. But that drawing, that’ll give the kids nightmares.

Don”t forget to include “Typo” on your list. “Mossey” is a misspelling and I’m not sure what a “Goosle” is.

Mossey Creek is an actual creek near Kamloops, British Columbia. The story could be about the bridge over that specific creek.
However, as the author is from Tennessee, I doubt they know about it.

Goosle is likely Goose given its giblet proximity.

Hands are hard to draw, but you don’t often find backwards hands on things besides Dungeon & Dragon’s Rakshasas!

I find that head to be very pear shaped, furthermore did someone just smack this person one, those cheeks are quite red.
