The Poodle Tale

Every once in a while, I feel compelled to post a “my pet is so fascinating!” book. (h/t axolotl)

Unless that poodle can shoot laser beams out of its eyes… it simply is not interesting enough to write a book about.

Maybe it’s just a tale about its tail. That might be interesting enough. You know, say if the dog gave the groomer a lot of grief, or better yet dropped a log during the brush out.

With that in mind, let’s have another look…

::scrolls up, twists head this way and that, studying the dog::

On second thought, you’re right. Nothing to see here. Nothing of interest. We don’t need to see the poodle’s identification. Move along.

BTW, that’s an ugly lot of red and the pixelated font and its color suck old moldy dog treats.

P.S. Next time take the picture in an area of the yard where the dog hasn’t peed the grass dead.

Dear Mr. Nathan Shumate,

Please – just go ahead and fucking shoot me right now. Preferably in the head. I cannot take this torture any longer.

Yours Truly,

I saw that! It has no ranking, meaning no one has bought it.

Can’t think why…

Poodle is actually crying inside. “I’m a wolf, dammit! I AM a wolf…”

The worst thing about this that the content is even worse than the cover. It looks like an attempt to make a ‘coffee table’ book, i.e. a book that probably isn’t groundbreaking or terribly exciting or deep in terms of its written content, but is meant to be visually inviting by means of its layout and presentation of lots of professional and interesting photographs. And in this case the layout is dreadful, with a lot of typesetting problems, and the images are small and badly laid out, and seem to have been taken on a mobile phone. If you look in the preview, there’s a page that says something like ‘here is a picture of puppies’ that sums it up. It looks like the author thought throwing together any old rubbish would make a book and earn some money.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. This must be the Official Poodle thereof.

At least there’s a poodle on the cover? Yes, my standards have sunk that low. I blame LBC for that.
