When I was in grad school, periodically the publicity office would come by and want to take pictures of us in lab coats and goggles, pretending to do science. I *hated* being the model for these sessions and I’m pretty sure I always looked about as enthusiastic in the photos as the people pictured here. I didn’t want to be there and neither do they!

And I cannot think of sand castles as being anything permanent or substantial. perhaps that is why there are no sand castles on this cover.
