While I don’t think the illustration in the middle is bad, there’s something very strange about his leg. It’s like he’s a one-legged man with a hoof for a foot, ridding sidesaddle.

Oh, don’t apologize. Some of these covers make me want to shout and rant AND RAGE! There. That was therapeutic.

Cartoon OR realism. Combining the two always looks stupid.

I looked it up. It’s Trafford-bestowed (one vanity press owned by Author Solutions). Probably came with an upgraded package.
