Just as I suspected – the cover text is even more unreadable in the thumbnail.

Been there.

Wicked? Exotic? Erotic? Wonderland?

Not so much.

No author name. Too embarrassed to claim this mess?

It’s an anthology. Having said that, there’s usually at least an editor credit on the cover. Also, it’s a charity anthology, and that is usually mentioned on the cover too.

Oh dear. Who’s this in aid of? I feel almost compelled to donate out of pity for having to be represented by this cover.

National Autism Association, apparently.

For me, the big head model works. Get rid of everything else (especially the font) and focus the cover on her.

That moldy broccoli font could qualify for a “bad school lunch” tag.

‘This is enough to make a squirrel say, “Slow down!”’ — I am so stealing that!

Also, I love the twinned roses in the lower right. They make me think of breasts, but they’d be even more effective if the one that ought to be further away hadn’t somehow gotten in front.

Ditto on stealing the squirrel line. I mean, hell, if you’re gonna steal, steal good stuff.

Here’s my question: am I the only one that thinks that the nearly-unnoticeable “black” tats on the male model’s back looks like someone went wild with slapped-on kinesiology tape? I mean, no depth of color, no following the outlines of the model’s back…sheesh. Of course, as I said, for all we know, that back was, er, homaged from another cover somewhere.

@L.: I think that the big-head model probably isn’t nearly as effective when she’s not distorted through stretching her aspect ratio narrower–her face is probably chubbier when she’s left untweaked. OTOH, I’m so boggled by the Beginner-Green Maybelline eyeshadow that I can’t see much else.
