Here Be Dragons

So which is your favorite element: The poorly cut-and-pasted pseudohuman, or the squished-for-no-reason planets?

Getting kind of picky, Catie.

I think that is one of them there stray shadows that doesn’t really seem to be physically accurate, by the light shown.

Well, if you’re gonna steal a title, you should at least steal it properly.

BTW.

I don’t see any dragons. Not even a Dragon.

But that is quite a pair of not-Dragons she has there. Maybe that’s her nickname for ’em.

And what is clinging to them? I don’t know, but it doesn’t behave like any fabric I’m familiar with.

That’s dragon skin. She hunted them down for bikinis. Now the poor creatures are on the endangered animals list. She’s just discovered that here be the last of the surviving specimens and is about to get herself some matching undies. She needs a new pair because the ones she’s wearing have some weird defect.

“… it doesn’t behave like any fabric I’m familiar with.”

If it’s fabric it could be attached with spirit gum (theatrically used to attach moustaches, goatees, merkins, pasties, warts, etc.) or it could be tattoos or body paint. Or the dragon could be behind her and those’re its paws.

This would seem a lot more exciting if she didn’t look bored out of her mind.

Are authors now trading five star reviews among themselves? Just when I thought I’ve seen everything.

Ugh. It makes you look almost as pathetic as a review from your mother.

My fave elements are the pseudo-breasts. 🙂

Is that supposed to be a planet? I assumed it was a dragon egg.

I thought it was her shield. Or the cap of a mushroom, or a shield made of a mushroom.

[snark]I propose an “Act to Improve Employment Opportunities for Live Models” by making it a federal crime for book cover artists to use pseudohumans for anything other than first rough drafts of book covers and not for published covers.[/snark] The lack of emotion and unnatural symmetry of pseudohuman faces creeps me out.

Didn’t Jane Russel make a whole career on lifting and separating bras?
This pseudo-human has the separation going for “it”, but not the rest.

I just noticed there’s another planet behind her. Why, WHY would anyone do that? Why are so many people squishing the poor planets? Is it an epidemic of some strange sickness that compels people to do that? Maybe it’s a type of OCD. Touch the lamppost twice, don’t step on the cracks in the pavement, squish all the planets.

I just hope these planet squishing lousy book cover artists don’t provoke planets into squishing people.

Maybe that’s why there are also so many squished people in these covers? The revenge of the squished planets?
