It would be better without the flash, without the “picture” being photographed, without the text, and, it’s safe to assume, without the book behind it all.

Snot-on-a-painting, what a lovely idea for a cover photo.
Now, why is DH publishing his sister’s diary? I’ve heard of brothers stealing a diary and threatening to show it to others, but putting it out in snot-covered book form is new.
I wonder whose birthday cake that is?
