The whole vibe is completely yawn-worthy. Slumped shoulders, relaxed left hand, bright light and colors. The author couldn’t even be bothered to get a decent knife, for heaven’s sake.

Well, her hair is REALLY messy. I’m certain I read somewhere that psychotic killers with butter knives never brush their hair. It’s how you can spot them at the mall.
I keep looking at this picture and thinking, what’s going on here? why does this seem to have such a relaxed vibe. Then I see it – her left hand, calmly resting on the chair back. It’s just kind of laying there like a dead fish.
I realize psychotic people can have some odd affects, but this calm waiting doesn’t occur to me as likely.
Do psychotic bare-bellied jammers (he he) normally wait calmly for a victim to finish talking before . . . I don’t know, stabbing him? Buttering him?

Just wait. In a year or two, the new fad will be one step removed from this: the selfie book cover (filtered, too).
You might be onto something there. But in this case, this is not the author on the cover. Could be her daughter though.
In the comics industry it’s already happened. DC did a whole line of variant “selfie” covers on their titles one month.

Somehow I doubt the author knows what ‘psychotic’ means. She seems so calm and collected. Though the choice of weapon is a bit irrational.
